Mexico is well known for its biodiversity, the result of different microclimates that originate from the multiple levels of an incredible volcanic mountainous country.

The topographic profile of Valle de Bravo makes this place a sub-tropical high altitude birders' paradise.

There are six rivers that converge into a lake surrounded by evergreen pine and oak forests. The nearby high altitude peaks covered with fir trees and the neighbouring low lands or "tierra caliente", with its caducifolia jungle make the region a unique one.

In a relatively small area, the variety of habitats includes mountains, streams, lake, prairies, crop fields and small urban areas. All these ecosystems make Valle de Bravo an outstanding bioregion that offers excellent birding opportunities, the same during the mild and dry winter than in the moderately warm and humid summer.
